I've had a walther ppk under my matress for over thirty years. I'd like it out of the house. Do pawn shops in Georgia buy guns? What is the gun worth. It's black.

Value depends upon configuration, grips, caliber, condition, & markings. We'd probably need to see photos.
I believe that only those pawn shops in GA with a firearms license will buy it; they will generally have a sign reading "GUNS" in the window. However, a pawn shop is probably the last place you want to go to sell a gun, especially if you don't know what it is worth.
You may want to go to the Gunbroker home page & click on the "SmartSearch" link. You can then search "completed auctions" & see if anyone has recently bought a similar gun, & the price it actually sold for.

Fired it many, many years ago, while pregnant with my 30 year old son -- Box of bullets says 380. Gun is in good condition - I guess. Probably needs to be cleaned.0 -

Vietnam era huh? If it was bought new, it came probably from Germany via INTERARMS of Alexandria, VA. After 1968, PPK's were no longer imported due to the Gun Control Act. If it's after that, it could be a PPK/s.
A key recognition feature is slide legend and black grips. Those blue guns actually sell now for between $375 and $550.
If you bought it used and it's from the Nazi era, it would be considerably higher and would need to be looked at. A key recognition feature would be brown or brown marbled grips.
Your best bet is to find out it's value and sell it via the newspaper. Less hassle than anything else except selling it to a gun or pawn shop.

Hello I agree with all of the advise from every one includeing P3 skyking but would be carefull on advertiseing in a newspaper. There are some LOW LIFES that will call to see where you live and then come in and get the pistol when you are not home I suggest you sell on this site instead. 0 -
Those people are the ones that get blasted in the face. Just be smart about giving out any personal info regardless of what it is. Never give out your home address or home number. Use a cell number and meet at a neutral place. You may want to try to sell it here on GB as the price may be less than to place the add in a paper.

Fellows, I hesitate to pooh paw on your warnings, but she's in Georgia. People are still allowed to sell guns in the paper down here. We do shoot if people are screwing around without fear of being hauled off.
Do you really think Gail is a diehard gun person that wants the hassle of taking photos, ginning up a listing, finding and paying an FFL, and paying GB?
Anyway, probably the first person that looks at it will buy it.

Actually guys, I think this is the gun issued to pilots in vietnam. At any rate, it was a pilot who gave it to me. I've got a ballpark price range and that's pretty much what I wanted. I'll defend myself with an eight iron and mace and ferocious pug. If you're local, I'll be selling a lot of things. Had a bad divorce lawyer.
