Off duty police officer carry
In Texas, are off-duty police officers allowed to carry open or must they conceal their firearm?

Peace officers are allowed to go armed anywhere in the country, thanks to recent Federal legislation. Some individual agencies may require the officer to go armed at all times when in the jurisdiction.
State law in Texas does not require concealment for officers, but common sense and/or department policy might require it. I can't answer for other states.
It just doesn't make sense to me to carry a handgun openly in public when not wearing a uniform that people associate with handgun carry.
