Need help pricing Parker Bros 12 Ga Shot Gun
I am new, I know NOTHING about guns but believe we should all have the rights to own them.
I have two items that I need a realistic value on, that I want to sell.
One is a Winchester 23/35
The other is a Parker Bros, Double Barrell 12 guage Shot Gun serial number 127,515 (believe date of production was around 1902)
The barrel is 26.6 inches long.
Not sure of a model, don't even know how to take it apart.
I have been told that the condition would rate on a scale of 1-100 about a 65 as it has a small dent on the outside of one of the barrels and a few scratches, otherwise has not been cleaned or touched for over thirty years. My uncle who is deceased in 1992 owned both of them since he was about 20 yrs old (died at age 84).
I had two gun shops look at the Parker Bros, where the first one acted like it wasn't worth much, but when I went to leave then he was a bit more informative. The other one was a very honest man who referred me here and to a private gentleman locally who said he would be interested in buying it if I put a price on it. Was told that the price books range from $500.00 to $68,000.00 (which I could be so lucky but not anticipating it's value), but I would very much appreciate any and all help.
About ten years ago my son took it to a pawn shop to see if they could offer it's worth and they placed a value of about $3,000.00 on it.

Early Morning LRusso and welcome,
The serial no. of the Parker is in my data base. Manufactured late
1904. This *should* equate to a Vulcan Quality with double triggers,
30" barrels-.12 Ga. Look at the water table and see what letter is stamped there. Should have a capped pistol grip, splinter forearm,
dog's head plate. Too many questions to ask you. A 50% percent Vulcan
means nothing to a Parker collector. You must describe the original condition of all components. Bore condition, tight lock up, percent of original case colors on the receiver-etc. A Vulcan will never approach 3K unless it is in 98% strong condition with extras. If the pawn shop *actually offered 3K* should have taken the money and run.
Pls describe every marking on the Parker and a percent of the strong original finish and I/others may be able to put you in a price category. Forgot-the frame size is marked on the barrel locking lug-expressed in a number or a number and a fraction-plays a factor in pricing. I suggest only that you have shooter if a smith judges the gun safe. FYI/ My first Parker was a Vulcan-still own it plus a few others. The Vulcan was the first letter grade gun. Best of luck, 1010 -
There is NO pawn shop offering him 3k! It would have to be a 410 and KNOW what they were looking at. Pawn shops in my area know remington 870s and Mossberg 500s thats about it. nambu 0 -

FrancF, I need to get a new digital to upload pictures but will try to get one this week and then put them up including the Winchester 25/35 that I know nothing about as well.
mm8: Not that it matters, I am a she, not a he and I did NOT say the pawn shop OFFERED that amount, they said they thought it would retail for that amount but then again as others stated, what do they know.
