Colt Stocks (grips)
Is there a easy way to tell the difference between Python and Diamondback grips. I picked a set up at a yard sale. Gold Colt emblem on them I figure they possibly fit one or the other. Large gips, when you put them together there is an open area on the back side about 1/2" the front and bottom are tight.

In general for the "wood stocks":
Python grips leave the back of the grip frame exposed.
So are the J frame revolvers (Lawman, Trooper).
The Diamondback grips are not open in the back. They're also quite a bit smaller.0
