AK guys i need a measurement of the

height of the front sight from the top of the barrel, dosent need to be ultra precise ,also the barrel dia. at the sight

    Hello I am not the sharpest knife in the rack, BUT I think you need to reword your question. The front sight height is dependant on how far The rear sight is above the bore line. In a rifle the barrel usually has both the rear and front sight mounted on it but because the barrel is larger at the rear on most rifles the front sight looks higher . on a pistol the sights can be on the slide or frame and barrel. What firearm are you asking about????

    Which AK are you asking about. Some like the mak90 have a larger outside barrel diamerter than most others. I'm sure all the others are not exactly the same.

    I was asking about the height of a AK front sight base from the barrel to the sight pin ,of a bulg.or Rom. model , i am trying to see if i could use a ak base on an sks para ,I just want to see if there close enough to use ?

    On my preban Norinco AKSs in 7.63x39 and .223, the barrel diameters are threaded at the muzzle to .545"dia.
    The dimension from the bottom of the barrels to the tops of the front sights is 2.155 and 2.145. This is eyeballed because you can't get a caliper inside the sight hood.
    If you subtract 1/2 the barrel diameter from these dimensions you get the height of the front blade above the barrel centerline or 1.885 and 1.873.
    Since there is considerable height adjustment in the sight you might be able to zero the thing.
