one of my "adopted" kids came in today with a new rifle.
no name, no cal. marking just what apear to be japanese? characters on the top of the reciever, and a (proof) at the end of the s.n. on left side of action.

any help app!

  thanks BR, from what i see there would be series 5, nagoya arsenal...any idea what caliber these would be?

  My reference notes that the majority of Nagoya production was between 1939 & 1945. The rifle produced was the Type 99, chambered for the 7.7mm Japanese Cartridge.
