Marlin 97 with wrong barrel?
I am getting ready to sell a few guns and was surprised to discover that my 97 has a barrel marked 39A. The receiver shows little wear and the possibility that the barrel was replaced because the original was shot out seems remote. Any logical explanation as to why the barrel was replaced? The gun world does not need another mis-

it's possible the '97 barrel was damaged (fired w/bore obstruction) and the 39a barrels used to replace it. the two models are very close and the barrels might interchange. 0
