Hi all, first time posting in forums. My question is,are the cobray macs worth the investment since the stop in manufacture? Also,what kind of quality do these ingram replicas have? Thanks for the input.

If you ever use the word "investment" in the same sentence as "gun", you are in the wrong area. With only a few exceptions, for most us guns are toys. You should only buy those toys that you can easily afford.
Macs are one of the few toys that have absolutely no practical value. (Did you ever see a police department that has any?) Quality is what you would expect from any gun that is almost entirely made of crude stampings. If you just want to impress your friends, that's fine, but that's all they are really good for.
Full auto MACS, like all other Class III firearms, have appreciated greatly in the last several years. They may all continue to increase in value, or the fascists we elect to Congress may decide to confiscate them next year. Buy what you like & what you can afford.

Can't argue with Neal. Mac and Tec-9's are fun to pose for pictures (with the mags as long as a ball bat) but nobody would use one for self defense!
Right Neal. I paid $1450. in 2002 for a M-10 registered in 45 & 9. Wish I had borrowed on the farm and bought them all!

Now, wait a second or two here...
There are a lot of qualifying conditions here. From your opening statement, it is hard to pinpoint the exact firearm you have in mind.
A few of this basic style of gun were originally manufactured in the "open bolt" configuration. These semi-auto guns were rules as too close to being full auto, something about all it taking was a dime taped under the sear to convert them, or some such. The manufacture of these "open bolt" pistols became illegal, but the existing firearms are still legal to own. If you are talking about a legal semi-auto open bolt MAC, these cannot be tossed into the same classification as the closed bolt versions that came later.
My own opinion is, the open bolt versions are very much investment pieces.
Also, the M11/9 and M10 are great fun guns, they are a blast to bump fire, if nothing else. The other things about these cheap, stamped metal guns is they are able to digest full blown SMG (sub machine gun) ammo, which will destroy many typical handguns. Myself, I like them for no other reason than they will handle this ammo, and through the bump fire technique, can empty 30 round mags in about two seconds.
Also, in general, guns are like gold. They do not appreciate much over a baseline value, but will always appreciate in value with inflation. I wish I could buy many of the guns for the prices they originally sold for in the 50's through the 80's.

Heheh, yeah they do seem like fun to plink with. I used to have an Intratech-22 that was a blast to shoot,sometimes getting double and triple taps out of one squeeze. So what you are saying is that the open bolt models hold a better value than the closed. I was just wondering about the reliablitiy and quality of the Cobray macs compared to the MasterPiece macs. The MP macs are sidecocking whereas the Cobrays are topcockers. 0
