357 single shot rifle?

anybody still making a single shot 357mag rifle?what i am actually wanting is a 357 max rifle.at 1 time nef or h&r built a 357 maximum rifle but i dont think they are around any more, so i thought about buying a 357 magnum rifle and rechambering it.but i looked at h&r site and i dont see a 357 mag listed in the handi rifle.any help is apprec thanks

    You can still get 357mag barrels added on just not the whole rifle any more you just have to call them as I don't recall the model#.

    no such luck.i called h&r and was told i could buy the 357 mag barrel seperately for $80.they said it would fit any of thier centerfire rifles.if i was too buy a nef used in 223 would this 357mag barrel go on it with no alterations?thanks

    I believe Ruger produced a #3 in 357 called California Highway Patrol Commemorative (or some such thing).

    Look for a Ruger #1 or #3 and have it rebarreled to the maximum. That is what I am doing with my #3.

    Not sure if they would even sell you just a barrel. But yes it would I have taking 12ga barrel and put it on a 223 receiver I however did NOT shoot it but it did "go on" without any problems. Its worth the extra money and time to have it done right the first time than lose an eye,finger or worse.

    H&R won't fit a rifle barrel to a shotgun frame. You can look at the model number and if it is SB-2, they will fit ANY barrell to the receiver. BUT if the gun started out as a shotgun (SB-1), they will not fit anything but other shotgun barrels to it. I am on a couple of NEF boards. Occasionaly, someone will list a barrel for sale. I will keep my eyes peeled for a 357max.
