454 ballistics, 16" vs 20" barrel

Would there be a significant difference in velocity from a 16" barrel as opposed to a 20" barrel? Being a pistol cartridge, I would think that all the powder would have burned in a 16" barrel and there will be no gain in velocity from a 20" barrel?

  In factory loads the velocity change is about nil.

  But what about in my new Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan with a 2 1/2" bbl. This thing really kicks.
