Brown Bear/Silver Bear Ammo ??
Does anyone know what the difference in these 2 are? I was thinking about buying some and wanted to get some opinions. I have used Wolf and Barnaul in the past with excellent results, but this stuff is competetively priced and I just wanted to get some opinions on accuracy and reliability. They have 500 rounds of 125 gr. Silver Bear soft point for $49 at Sportsmans Guide. The case is silver colored zinc plated and I am guessing that is why they call it "Silver Bear" and the other stuff is the lacquered green and they call it "Brown Bear". Anybody have any info? TIA

Your guess as to why it is called silver/brown is correct. There really is no practical difference between the way the ammo performs or its reliability. It used to have a reputation for being "dirty ammo" in that it left a lot of fouling and residue in the gun, but the Rooskies have seemingly cleaned up their act and such is no longer the case. It's a good buy for plinking and blasting; but of course for most folks it is non-reloadable. 0
