mod. 70 bases for short mag
I have a model 70 featherweight in 270 WSM. I am having a hard time finding the correct leupold bases for it. Does anyone KNOW of 2 piece bases that are going to work? Has anyone else dealt with this? I used the base selector on leupold website and it steered me astray. I just tried part # 50022 and the rear base prevents operation of the bolt. Do not want to use weaver style bases.

scott,without being there,I'm not sure but when you said the rear base put the bolt on a bind,it usually is caused by the screw(S)being to long,check to see if used the correct screw 0 -
Scott I think you have the right base, you should have two long screws and two shorter ones, long screws go up front to mount the front mount, shorter screws in the rear mount (base). I use the Leupold base and ring selector with excellent luck and find it very accurate. If you ever have questions call Leupold they are simply the best to deal with. 0 -

It is great for the Short Mag owner....has forums for optics, rifles, reloading, trade or sell, and many more....a great spot......you could find out what you want to know there I bet......
