pre 64 Winchester safety

I picked up a collection of model 70's and noticed that all of the safety levers were stuck in the fire position. I never have owned a model 70 before is this a job for a gunsmith?????

    Is the safety still "stuck" after you cycle the bolt??

    cycle the bolt and try again. if i remember right i think the safty can not be moved after the trigger has been pulled. i store mine with the trigger pulled when locking the bolt into position to take the tension off the firing pin.this could be what is up tith yours.

    the safety stays on after cycling the bolt...
    can't move it from fire..

    Open the bolt, with the bolt open try putting the safety into the middle position. If it moves to the middle position close the bolt. If this works push the safety to the fire position and see what happens.

    tried the open bolt thing to no success, the safety won't move...
