I saw your post to the question on the pinned and recessed barrels. Just today I asking about the rimfire K frame guns. I for some reason beleived that all the rimfires had recessed cylinders. I spoke with a gunsmith today who said that only the LR had the recessed cylinders and the magnums were not recessed. He said that he had made many conversions to the 32 mag on these cylinders. Can you confirm this.

He insists that the 22 mag cylinders are not recessed. The difference being that recessed cylinders have to be refaced in order to have extractor clearance for rimmed ctgs. Wlhen the 32 mags came out they were hard to come by as they still are today. If you take a 22 cylinder and ream it out to 32 you are good to go providing that you don't have the extractor clearance issue. We know that the LR cylinders are recessed does that still hold true for the 22 mag. 0
