m44 mosin nagant muzzel brake
what will the muzzel brake do for the m44 mosin nagant and is it going to make it louder... got one awhile ago and its louder then hell. looking for something to quiet it down some... just to loud.

Not much you can do, most of the inexpensive Mil Surp ammo available is hot stuff that was made/used, primarily for the various East Bloc machineguns. Shooting it in a carbine with a 18 in. barrel is guaranteed to clear out your sinuses. I reload but even then it a matter of trial and error to work up a light accurate load that will be in register with the original military sights.

Most muzzle brakes are designed to vent the force of the blast up and a lot of the times to the rear twards the shooter in an effort to lessen the recoil ,With the M44 theres. not much you can do its just a dragon with that 20 barrel and milsurp.ammo If you want a nice mosin to shoot buy a 91/30 the difference is night and day from a 44. try wearing plugs and muffs together??? 0 -
Buy a good set of muffs with the highest decibel rating you can find. I used to use a cheap pair and would get monster headaches and ringing ears from my M-44. Bought a good set of muffs and no problems anymore...Joe
