DAVIS P-380......
I have a Davis P-380 that I need to disassemble and do some work to it. How do I disassemble it? Any manuals on any sites that can be downloaded? Anyone had one of these apart? Thanks.

I haven't tinkered with one since I was in the LA Crips back in '87, but if I remember correctly they have a takedown plunger in the back of the slide much like the Jennings. Remove the magazine, check to make sure the gun is UNLOADED, drop the hammer, push in takedown plunger and lift the back of the slide up. Be careful, the plunger and spring can pop out easily and dink you pretty good.
PS: I was kidding about the 'Crips' thing[;)]

Whatever you do, do NOT pull the trigger with the slide off.
The parts WILL fly in all directions. I had to make a small
spring to replace the one I couldn't find.0 -
The takedown lever is actually what you see the firing pin sticking though it the back of the slide,{part number 15, called a retainer} take a ink pin and push in the tit on the round part surrounding the firing pin, lift the slide off, and it goes back together the same way

Now as far as "Anyone had one of these apart?", everyone who has ever owned one has had it apart at one time or another, mostly due to it flying apart on its own0 -
I took it apart and cleaned it. Now the problem: it will NOT eject all the spent casings completely out of gun;the slide slams into them and they will not eject.Sometimes they stick up vertical,sometimes they stay horizontal(out of the chamber,but not the gun). Any suggestions other than throw it away? Thanks.

It doesn't fail to eject on every casing,sometimes you can shoot 2 rds. then failure,but the whole clip cannot be shot with NO failures.It's unpredictable. Thanks.

i have a j-22 and a davis p380.waiting on parts for both of them.the first time i shot the j-22,it flew apart and my dog almost swallowed the firing pin spring,so me and my buddy fished it out of her throat,only to realize that she did manage to swallow the firing pin!im gonna clean both up real good and see if i can get either gun to crank off a whole clip. 0 -
Oh Dang!i had gun apart and i pulled the trigger accidentally and stuff flew out!i'll need more instructions than the cheesy schematics at numrich gun parts! 0 -
My best advice to you is get rid of them both, even if you have to take a loss.Buy something you can count on firing when you pull the trigger. 0 -

2. Put all the parts you can find in a box and send them to Cobra Enterprises of Utah, and ask them nicely to reassemble and return.0
