What are the markings for chokes on the old Remington shotgun barrels? 1 * 2** 2 1/2* 3 *** How do you read them I used to know but can't remember their system

  This is from a post from a couple of weeks ago...
  
  This information is not as easy to find as we would think. I've seen these designations on mostly imported shotguns. Here's what my notes have:

  (Modified **)
  
  (Improved Cylinder **-)
  
  (Skeet **S-)
  
  (Cylinder ***)
