Freedom arms VS Ruger Bisley Hunter

I need a new 44mag for hunting deer. Should I drop the cash on a freedom arms? Are they worth it? Or will I be better off at 1/3 the price on a ruger bisley hunter? How accurate are the freedom arms pistols? Thanks for any and all opinions.

    FA all the way... had both in .454.. still have the FA..

    With all the money you save by buying the Ruger, you can buy lots of ammo or reloading components. The Freedom is an excellent revolver, but the Ruger will do you just fine hunting white tail deer. If money is not a concern, then get the Freedom.

    Go with the Ruger. They are fine solid workhorse pistols. In any case, the money you save can be used for other purposes.

    If you are one of the people we all envy (at times) with no monetary limitations, just buy them both, then decide for yourself which is best, and let us know !

    I can't see where the FA would provide enough benefit to justify the extra cost. I have held the FA and have shot Ruger SBH's. The ruger is a fine gun and very well priced. I would use the SBH instead of the bisley, but that is just personal preference.

    why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

    I've always wanted to know what makes the FA so much more expensive. I know fit and finish is excellent, but I've never looked at one up close. I noticed, just drooling over the pics, that the back of the cylinder is real tight against the frame. Do they counter-bore the cylinder? 'Cuz that'd be cool.

    Freedom Arms revolvers are without question the finest made, tolerances and machining make the Ruger look like...a Ruger. If you want the best get the Freedom Arms.

    Freedom Arms, if for no other reason than resale value. The Ruger is just a gun, the FA is an investment.

    so if you don't like your new gun and decide to sell it , you're going to take about a 20% hit maybe even more
    Ruger $500 -20% =$100
    FA Premier $2000-20% =$400 [xx(]

    To me it's apples versus oranges.

    You are assuming that they are going to depreciate at the same rate. A Harley versus a Honda does not depreciate at the same rate. The same is true with nice cars. That is why the Ruger is just a mass produced gun, but the FA is an investment. The FA will also outlast the Ruger.

    Mooseyard you may well be correct but tell me if you sold that FA at 2000 and a month later the guy walks back into your shop and wants out of it , because it just doesn't work for him for what ever reason , are you telling me you wouldn't hit him for atleast 20%

    also figures taken from 2004 Standard Catalog of firearms shows
    NIB $1750
    Exc. $1400 thats 20% on the nose

    danski26 the Ruger also comes in 41mag and 45colt , just in case you aren't set on a 44mag

    Freedom Arms are impeccably made, I was fortunate enough to pick up someone's dream, scoped, magnaported, grips, etc. in 454 Casull for a very agreeable price.

    I'm set on 44 mag, i just don't know about spending 1500+ on a pistol. I want accuracy. I have a 629 that has been a disappointment from the start. Average accuracy from it is around 5 inches at 25 yards. I know, I know..... I don't want to hear from all the smith fans with advice. I am done with Smith, thats the bottom line. That being said I don't want to get the ruger if it can't give me 2 inches at 25 yards or better.
