question on 44-mag.

can you shoot the 44-rem.mag. in 180gr. bullet,in the carbine,or is that just for the pistol.Thank--You.. Dan.

    Carbine or revolver--let'er rip. You can also chamber the .44 special in either firearm. It should say so ON the guns--or at least, in the manual.

    My buddy has an older Ruger .44 carbine. His pet load uses a 180 Gr. JHP....

    Guns only have two enemies: Rust and Liberals....

    Depends on the carbine... with the Ruger Deerfield (semi-auto) the instruction manual does not recommend bullet weights under 240 grains because there's not enough oomph to cycle the action. Also, different guns shoot certain loads better than others. My Winchester '94 shoots heavier bullets much better than the light 180's.

    As Gunslinger said,it depends.

    My old model Deer Stalker won't
    cycle anything under 240 grains.

    It really shouldn't matter in anything that's not
    a semi-auto,I wouldn't think.
