1892 Winchester Rear Sight
Do any of you Winchester guys have photos, web sight, or other source for me to check if the rear sight is correct for a recently purchased mod. '92...rifle, not carbine.
If not, I will try to post a picture here as soon as my new digital with a good close-up lens arrives.

griz- the standard rear sight for the 92 rifle is the Win. #22 sporting rear sight with a screw-locked insert. Around serial #250K, the elevator has a serrated thumb-print feature. There was a myriad of optional rear sights, including those made by Win., Lyman, Marbles, and Redfield-also including tang sights made by Lyman and Marbles. -Asa 0 -
OK...looks like I've got the standard #22. Has the screw lock insert with a lock screw on each side. Couldn't find any markings to idicate a marbles or other brand. Thanks asa. 0 -
griz-it won't be marked because it's a proprietary Winchester sight; the other makers would have their name on sight(s). -Asa 0
