how to disassemble my buckmark?

I can't figure out how to take the recoil rod with the firing pin housing out of the slide. I don't think the manual explains it all that well. It feels kind of like it is stuck in there, but I can move it around it just won't come all of the way out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  My advice to you is that if the manual doesn't explain it well enough and it seems to be stuck, take it to a competent gunsmith. I would also contact Browning and explain the difficulty you are having with the instructions from the manual.
