Best .22 pistol for me? Beowulf price?

I am looking for a .22 pistol. I plan to beat the hell out of it. Heavy shooting, I will give it a good cleaning after every time. But I would like to be able to run 300+ rounds though it in one day before cleaning. A 4+ inch barrel and adjustable sights would be nice. I am willing to buy a used pistol. Stainless or blued will be ok. Any advice? Also I am thinking about selling a slightly used (less then 100 rounds) .50 Beowulf entry level 16 inch upper with a2 sights and reloading dies, casings and bullet heads. What would be a fair price?

  Don't know about the Beowulf but D@D was right suggesting the Ruger MKII. I also have a Ruger 22/45 with a 5 1/2" bull barrel that is a fantastic little gun, accurate, reliable and cheap. Bought mine from Bud's gunshop on Gunbroker.

  Get a MKIII from Bud's on GB. That new "loaded chamber indicator" is really a great improvement for safety - I got my 2245 5 1/2 bull barrel adjustable sights for 229. Runs hundreds of rounds without a cleaning , 100 percent reliable with all high speed brands tried. Get those bulk paks of choice at Walmart 8 or so bucks for 550.

  I agree with the others on the Mark II. I,ve had the Mark I and the Mark II in blue. GREAT shooting pistols. Now I have the Mark II Slabside target model in SS. OMG,,,,, Its like sex in SS and beautiful wood. PLUS....It holds groups that are fantastic. But then, so did the others.
  Another good choice would be the Buckmark. Another fine shooter.

  I picked up a new Stainless MKII. You guys are right, shoots the cheapest ammo i could find with out any problems. And it's heavy enough to take the kick out. Thanks
