Ruger Mark 2
i have a ruger mark 2 and it shot fine nothing wrong with it, but then i noticed it had a metal thing you could pull out on the back of the grip, so i pulled it out and couldnt do anything with it, so when i put it back together the thing you pull back to load the bullet into the chamber doesnt open up all the way now, so i spent about 3hrs trying to fix it and no luck no matter what i do it will not open far enough to get a bullet into the chamber. but when i open the thing up on the back of the grip again the thing pulls all the way back so i can put a bullet in, but once again when i close the thing on the back of the grip there is a bullet in the chamber but it will not fire!! please help me before i melt this gun!! thanks to everyone who helps out please e-mail me on Ronnielhines@yahoo.com

This is kind of an easy question I'm sure but I don't know the answer.
Will a Ruger Mark2 magazine work in a Ruger Mark 10 -
Putting your pistol back together is very hard for me to explain but i will give it a try. I have been in your boat with this pistol when i first got one so i know your frustration.
Make sure the pistol is UNLOADED!
pull the "metal thing" as you describe it back out. For ease of comunication in this we will call this the takedown lever.
Turn the pistol upside down. So the mag well is facing the celing.
pull the takedown lever down toward the floor so the end of it is over the bolt.
MAKE SURE IT IS UNLOADED!
pull the trigger.
You should hear and see a small bar fall into place in the grip against the take down lever.
push lever back into grip "there will be slight tension the last 1/16 inch" if not start over.
close the take down lever. keep trying till ya get it.

Hi Ronnie, welcome to the forum. Are you sure you should be playing with guns? Most guns come with instruction sheets called,"Owners Manual"; before you play with any more guns, you should read the ones for the guns you have. If your guns didn't come with them; you can contact the manufacturer of the guns and request one.
