Burris Fullfield or Nikon Buckmasters

I recently asked for opinions about rifle scopes to put on my new Remington 22-250. I've since narrowed it down to 2 choices, and I just wanted to ask which you'd take. I have the chance to get a new Burris Fullfield II 4.5-14x42mm Ballistic Plex for $270, or a new Nikon Buckmasters 4.5-14x40mm with Side Focus for $240. I realize that I could spend more money and get a better scope like the Burris Signature, or the Nikon Monarch, but there will always be something better and more expensive. This is really the max I can spend, so I really appreciate what your thoughts are between these 2 scopes given the prices. Thanks.

    The Nikon ATB binocs that I bought have the same wananty that the scopes have. They come with the limited, 25 yr, manufacturers defect type, if you have sent in the paper work and they can find it. Burris I have not had to send anything back to, so I can't say what you have by way of waranty from them, except that their reputation is great. My personal best experience was with Leupold who completely rebuilt a scope for me with no reciept or anything like a complaint. I own two burris fullfield II 3x9x40 balistic plex scope and like them alot. Between the two scopes you are asking about I'd go for the Burris.

    I think you'll get what you pay for either way. Both are second level product lines. Both have unique features to each. Both have great optics. Burris has the better warranty I think, and the stronger scope.
    The Ballistic-plex is great if your ballistics match those in the scope. That, though, is like chasing a pot of gold...you can get close but never right on it. And it changes with temperature. You have to find your own POA's/POI's vs. the marks and remember to do it in hot and cold weather.
    The side focus of the Nikon is a great feature...I love side focuses. They are much easier to handle than objective focuses.
    I would personally lean to the Burris but either way you would do well. -Good luck

    a guy told me that when he bought his burris in the 70's that if it ever messed up to send it back. he would get a new scope and the inspector or whoever would get fired. burris makes nice scopes and the buckmaster is more of an economy version. i go with the burris and never look back.

    I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

    I'll third the Burris.
    But don't leave out the Leupolds if you spent a bit more and got one you wouldn't be sorry, I've been seeing some nice used ones on Gunbroker auction and E-Bay too.

    Just disregard the Leupold, I've only got about a dozen of them and unfortunately I've never had to test their customer service because by some crazy fluke, none of them have ever failed, yeah go with the burris or the nikon they are purty.

    I am a Burris kinda guy, but in that price range I would go for the Cabela's Alaska Guide Pro series. About $280 for the 3x-9x and you won't find anything wrong with it. Excellent glass for that price range.
