What should i do?!?...Birchwood Casey Blue Pen...

I bought a touch up blue pen, used it on a lot of my guns in just a lil bit of areas, did as the directions specified, the next day i came back and every spot of the metal i touched on every one of my guns was rusting where the pen touched...it didn't just rust, it sort of pitted the metal because you can feel the roughness compared to the other blueing...does any one know what i should do?...does birchwood casey have a website or some place to email them?...does anyone know how i could get the metal to stop rusting? And has anyone else encountered this?

    Blueing is just controlled rust. Spray with Rem-oil or some other good gun oil and wipe .

    I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

    Next time you use it be sure to rinse the metal, and then apply a coating of oil.

    I have to respectfully disagree. I've tried just about every touch up bluing compound(incl. Blue Wonder) and have found B. Casey Perma-Blue to work-at least for me-the best, as long as you follow the directions exactly. As someone has already said, rinse with cold water between coats, and oil the area afterward. (I use FP-10) I've touched up dozens of guns and am very happy with the results. -Asa

    Yep , I hate reading all the directions too......but after making hundreds of mistakes I have learned to make myself read them twice.

    I have used both for minor touch ups, and both have worked OK.
    It is still a touch-up.
