38 S.&W. Special CTG #6953???

Trying to get an estimated value, and time of production.

Condition: Minor surface rust, first four numbers match, one minor scratch on original wood grips, 95% of bluing in tact.

  You will either have to post pictures or give us very specific markings and dimensions of your revolver. S & W has made many different models chambered for the 38 Special cartridge, from 1902 to the present.

  Are you sure that this revolver is a Smith & Wesson?
  
  Many Belgian and Spanish copies of the early Hand Ejectors came marked with "38 S&W Special CTG" on the barrel.
