Cabelas has 500 rounds for $54.99 plus $8 shipping. Does anyone know of a better deal going? I know alot of people don't like it, but it shoots great out of my SKS and Ruger MKII. I was just wondering if there is a cheaper place to get it.

Just a heads up about the Russian ammo. I made the mistake a few years ago of letting my son(12 years old at the time) deer hunt with the 123 gr HP Russian ammo. We had gone to the range and he was shooting tight groups at 100 yds. and I felt confident he would get a deer no problem. On the first day of gun season he was using the Ruger MKII 7.62X39 and sure enough around 8am he shot. I have no doubt he put a good hit on the deer, but we looked for hours and only found a few drops of blood. I found out later that the hollow points used on almost all of the Russian ammo is like shooting FMJ. It does not expand very well at all and I think the bullet just zipped right through the deer and did little damage at all. Now I use the 154 gr soft point only for hunting and the HP's for target practice. Like they say, hind sight is 20/20. I just wanted to throw this out there so maybe someone else can avoid this mistake.[V]

"Cheaper than dirt" is listing the same round by wolf for $59.87. Don't know what shipping is. I've ordered ammo from them before and found shipping to be pretty cheap.

I have used the Wolf Soft Point ammo on wild hogs at close range before and never a problem. The hollow point ammo though called hunting ammo on the box is not intended for hunting. It is just called that to get it to sell. 0 -

That is the best deal going on Wolf 154 grain soft points, 500 round case that I can find also.
