Howa M1 carbine ???

Ok,,,
I got one ( years ago ) its in the safe , I know a little bit about these and some various stories bout these ??? Just looking for any one with any info / story / ect.

Speaking of odd M1 carbines , I have a "Howa" (yes the japanese(sp?)? gun maker carbine ??? any ideas ???

The howa m1 was imported sometime in the mid/late 1990's, it was made in japan (howa) and should show a type of crest on the receiver. It was made for the japan military guard.

Howa made a M1 carbine????? Do you have any photos of it? I have never seen or heard of one!

I think they also made a lot of good quality .22 Carbines as well.

O.K. , so far so good , long story short , I ordered it a few years back from a dist. , it is in exc. cond. , supposedly rare ? very few imported back into the u.s.,still gathering info on this item ...will post some photos soon along with more info ...Howa has made several different guns (under several names) , very good quality as far as I can tell...

abcguns2, nice rifle. I'm very envious.[:p] I thought I had a nice carbine when I bought my Rockola carbine 15 years ago with all original parts. (The barrel is SA). You have a rare gem.

O.K. , just as a note , it costs me less than 2 franklins (200) for the howa !!! and I also have a Mint 'underwood' carbine (99%+++) and a 'redone' (shooter) winchester , all for less than $200.00 each...
Very proud of these ...some of the my 'best' buys ? keepers !!!
