Anyone help with WWII vets' clause to buy Garand?
[8D] Meanwhile, back in sunny FLA,
I read an article and it mentioned a "clause" where a WWII vet could buy a Garand for $300......and it gave no detail. It appeared that this purchase was NOT from the CMP but I'n not sure of that.
My father-in-law was in WWII and Korea and he has a 1903 A1 but would really like to have a Garand....only if to pass it on to his grandson.

this is from the cmp, your fil has met one of the requirements to buy a garand from the cmp (vet.). have him join a cmp affiliated gun club (or the garand collectots assy.) and he will have met the other requirement. I believe the greek rack grades are $295 + $20 s/h. go for it. 0 -
Once, for a period, a WW 2 vet could purchase at a reduced price.
Just one time. Dont recall the date but I did purchase one this way, and others at the usual price. I believe this was when only one per year was the allowed. This was either from the DCM or CMP. Forget
which or when they changed names ETC. However, being a vet does do away
with the "match shooting" requirements, but believe that is all.0
