Cap and Ball Derringer 1850 era
I have a single action cap and ball derringer with a 9mm bore. The action has two positions; half cocked and full cock. The action works fine. The grips are walnut and in good condition. Overall length is 5 inches. Barrel length 2.5 inches. Bore opening 9mm. The barrel has three diameters. One diameter where the cap penetrates the barrel 14mm dia, 10mm long; a hexagon (six sided) 7/8 inches long, 12mm dia. and a round barrel 10mm dia, 22mm long. The numbers "293" are imprinted under the barrel in front of the trigger guard. I would rate the gun as in "good" condition with a working action. Can you tell me anything about this gun and what its worth? Any info would be welcomed. Thanks Geo

Your pistol is a percussion boxlock pocket pistol with what is called a "bag grip". They were quite common, made in both Europe & the US from the 1830's until the late 1850's.
As yours doesn't have either proof or manufacturers markings it's questionable where it originated?
Workmanship appears rather crude, Condition appears to be "Antique" Very Good.
With no markings or proofs, my 2?, $100-$200.0
