Question about Maverick 88 12 Gauge
Anyone have any experience with this gun? And is it true that Mossberg components fit this gun? All knowledgable advice is appreciated.

They are a no-frills version of the 500. 2 main differences are the safety, and the warranty. For $169 they are hard to beat.

I agree.
Mine has worked very well in the last four years with nary a problem.
And for the on sale price of $130.00 in which i bought it it truely is hard to beat.

I believe the receiver is alloy,while the Mossy's are steel.
My buddy's 88 is going on fifteen or tweny years old and he USES it.Never a bobble.
Not an 870 but not half bad either.

Not a bad shotgun - I've shot plenty a dove with it. Mine new was $75.00 and the best value I've ever gotten. I retired it from hunting this year and outfitted it with a pistol grip and 18 1/2" barrel for home protection. If you can get it for under $150 go for it! 0 -
i have a 20in. mossberg,..and my brother has a 20in. maverick 88,..besides he safty and price they are the same gun,..wont go wrong with either.

Bought this gun for my wife for her to hunt with. She uses 2 3/4 in 6 and 7 1/2 shot for squirrel hunting. Does anyone know what is the best buck shot for this gun. It has an open choke. We are planning on patterning it, but wanted to know which was best without having to buy all the buckshot sizes. We have 4 and 00 at home, but will have to buy 1, 000, 0. Which these sizes are hard to come by. Any help with be grateful. 0
