Series 70 Colt questions
I just picked up a nice series 70 Colt Combat Commander in .38 super. Always wanted a .38 super for some reason and this one just came along. It has the brushed nickel finish, serial number 70SC40xxx. I just read that this finish is "scarce". Does anyone know a production amount or how scarce this thing really is? I haven't been able to find a source listing this serial number series either. Maybe there is another web sight with the info? As always, you guys are a great source of information!

I don't know if "scarce". Would be the correct term to use unless you are the seller, more like not very desirable or popular would be more appropriate, but please do not get me wrong that is not my personal opinion, the .38 super is a highly underrated cartridge, and a lot of people do not under stand the cartridge itself

Hello My infomation says 1975 start with SC36550- SC45201 38 super is often overlooked great AUTO cartridge. series 70 are my favorite COLTS but I like the full size frame and slide have fun. 0 -

I have been debating on getting a new esp gun 1911 in .38 super or 9mm, the super brass cost a fortune that is the only thing keeping me from getting one
Also our last conversation I told you I was going to shoot a state championship, well I shot two in different states, I pulled second in one and third in another, my first time to such a big match, I will be trying it again in a few months at the regionals0 -
Hello 1911 fan I have been to CAMP PERRY . I personally shot like a broke #$%^ dog but had fun and did CAPT the winning Civilian HARD-BALL team. YAHOO 0
