    I've decided to pass on an AR but still want something in 223. Since I love my 870 and pumps in general this seems to fit the bill. I also came across some mags in my gear from the first Gulf War which i'd like to put to use.

    Hows the quality on the current stock?
    Love it, hate it?
    Anything I should know about scope mounting?
    MOA?

    friend of mine was just tell me about these last weekend , he said there is a shop in our area that has them on hand , I'm hoping to get down there some time this week , I want to see what they are all about

    Basicly a 7600 in 223 which uses AR-15 Mags. I think it is the coming thing for LEO. Same function as the 870 but with a removable mag in 223. KISS[^]

    Jim just stoped in to that shop today and they do have one on hand , its in 223 , 16 1/2" barrel with ghost ring rear sight , other than that it does look just like a black 7600 , price was low $700, if you want to know where let me know and I'll get the phone # for you

    my first response is why is something like this needed. i wouldn't think a pump .223 is quite what law enforcement would need. seems to me a semi auto would be a better choice. i know around here they have mp5's and ar-15's, and i doubt that they would want something like this. just my opinion.

    I'm not an expert, but i did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

    The need is two fold:
    Budget- It cost less to buy than the semi-auto, less to maintain, less to train on.
    Training- It functions the same as the 870 with the same controls (except the magizine) so if you are familuar with the 870 this is an easy transition. The imediate action drills are simpler than the semi-autos and nearly the same as the 870 (less complicated for the non-gun people).[^]
