winchester 97 disassembly
can anyone point me toward a step by step RE-assembly of winchester 97 non takedown model? while I was gone, my brother attempted to clean it and took out all the screws in the receiver. [V] i don't want to booger this up any worse than it is.

Hello Jake: In a nut shell, I think you are screwed. The non-take version, (solid frame) is the hardest one to work on, depending on if you have the "C", "D", or "E" version. There are clearance issues along with a timing feature. Since it's apart it would be a great time to replace worn parts, along with springs and extractors/ejector. If you want the names of a couple of good Winchester gunsmiths, click on only winchesters to the left and send me a message, I'll email them to you. Did I mention there are several special tools used in the assembly process, most gunsmiths don't have them, much less parts. Regards Dave 0
