Slugs for Mossberg 835

I just picked up a slugster barrel for my 835 and have two questions:
What range limitations do I have hunting white-tails (iron sights)?
What are recommended loads?

  No more than 100 yds w/ open sights . Plenty of great slug choices out there . Try a couple different kind and see what she likes. Rermington Copper Solids, Lightfields, Brenneke. Try 2 3/4 and 3" also.

  When I'm forced to hunt whitetail with a shotgun I use Winchester Supreme 2 3/4" Platinum Tip in my 12ga, Mossberg 500. Overall, the Supremes have given me the best consistency, performance of all I've tried through THIS particular shotgun. Your mileage may vary!
