Marlin M 90 Date of Mfgr?

Can anyone tell me the date of manufacture for the following Marlin Model 90 0/U 12G? The serial number is S 9365. The gun has gorgeous flame grained wood on the stock and forearm. the receiver is covered with exquisite scroll engraving. the finish on the stock has oxidized in places. The barrels are 26" overall, and there is no choke markings that I can tell, except for an IM in an oval on the left bottom barrel. The gun is tight as a bank vault and in fine condition.     The "S" prefix puts it in 1958-59,but,according to the Gun Traders Guide,production of the Model 90 ceased in 1958,so I'm gonna go with that.

    Thanks for the information. Does anyone know how to remove the barrels from the frame? There are two screws in the forearm. And does anyone know what type of choking we have here? There is an IM within an oval on the barrels. This gun is a beatuty with truly beuatiful wood and extensive scroll engraving. I was under the impression that the the Model 90 was a field gun...this one sure isn't. Thanks again.

    As I recall it is the same as on many singles, doubles and overunders, with the action closed you pull the front of the forend away from the barrels and it comes off in your hand. Then you unlock the gun and lift out the barrels. My guess is the im signifies improved and modified chokes.
    It sounds like you may have a fancy grade unless someone put a lot of work into it. Does it have a single trigger and/or ventilated rib?
    I hunted pheasants extensively in Frozen Chosen and preferred the Marlin 90 to several pump and autoloaders we had then.
