Does anybody know the worth of a Glock American Hero 9/11 Model 22 and if the potential value will increase over time?

    The value depends upon who is selling it.

    If you are the one, then it's worth about the same as any other Glock 22. To the dealer trying to sell one, it's probably worth a lot more.

    Special editions from any manufacturer rarely re-sell for more than the plain version of any gun.

    Overtime, the value will increase. I predict that 100 years from now, this Glock will sell for several times what you paid for it today.

    At present, commemorative guns are worth a premium over the standard models ONLY if the condition is "new, in the original box". If a commemorative version has been fired or shows signs of handling, or the box is missing, it's not worth much more than the unadorned run-of-the-mill model.
    Also, some "limited edition" guns have been issued in quantities approaching regular production. As you might expect, they ain't worth more than their plain counterparts.
    IMO, buying commemorative guns is kind of like buying "collectible" plates. If the event or person commemorated appeals to you, buy it and enjoy it, but don't think of them as much of an investment.

    The ones I've seen went for the same as other Glocks when resold. Special Edition guns pretty much need to be NIB in order to be worth something more but you are liable to wait at least a decade before it appreciates.
