WHAT I S THIS?

but my pops has this old little deringer looking thing that i have no clue bout,..so i home someone can help
its overall length is just under 5in.
3in. barrles in a over/under config.
breach lock lever on right side which allows the barrles to swing upward to about 100-110 deg. for loading and unloadng
the extractor is on the leftside and is operated by a little lever
has a odd shapped fireing pin,.. i uess to fire both barrels at once?
the barrles look like blued steel the rest of it looks like old stainless and the handles look like there plastic
the only markings are:
"remington arms--u.m.c. co. ilion. ny." along the top of barrel between sights
"L938xx" on bottom of barrel
"EP" on the lug on bottom of barrel
any info as to what it is/when it was made/ caliber would be really great. thank you

Maybe a model 95 double derringer made by remington 1866-1935, this would be a good place to start, good luck...

The only .41 RF produced in several decades is what remains from a run which Navy Arms contracted to CBC (Brazil). Old We$tern $crounger is a highly probable source, but you can also find it offered on line or at gun shows. You can figure OW$ price as about the max you will see, but sometimes they are the only game in town.

well if any of you guys come accros some please let me know,..my pops really wants to shoot this gun if only once.
id like to get this little gun claned up nice and make a case for it,..any idea what will bring the finish back?0 -

Yep that's a derringer all right, but I don't know if I would fire it, the value of that little dude is well over a grand, but I do have some of the .41 short rimfire you need if abc doesn't come through I do have some, by the looks of it, it very well may be as old as the gun you have, shoot me an address I will send you a dozen 0
