Good Ankle Gun
Just wanted to get some advice on a good choice for a reliable ankle gun. I currently have a Glock 23 I bought for carry but I live in a southern state so I cannot carry it concealed during the late spring and summer months. I have been considering a Bersa .380, but I would like to get input on other good alternatives in the same size and price range. Especially those in a more robust caliber. All knowledgable input, as always, is greatly appreciated.

I can't recommend an ankle holster for CC. Consider the lengthy draw & obvious bending over.
Better choices would be a pocket holster or fanny pack.

I carried ankle briefly, but as others have said; if you need it in a hurry, you're in trouble. My latest solution to warm weather carry was to attach a belt clip to my P3AT and carry it IWB. The gun is so diminutive, it is not visible except for the clip, and it does not restrict motion or become uncomfortable whatsoever. My daily attire is wrangler jeans and a tucked in pocket tee, so there are not a lot of firearms that can be concealed. The Kel-Tec can.

I carry a kahr mk40 on and off duty in an alessi ankle rig. A backup is just that, a last resort weapon that no one but you knows is there. Its tough in the summer months to be able to carry concealed when you're wearing shorts and a tank top, sometimes you just bite the bullet and leave it in the truck. The alessi is molded without a retention strap, I modified mine for a little more security while running and put a 3/4" wide nylon strap on it. I didn't have the tools to sew it on so, Velcro and a hot glue gun keep it in place just fine.

[8D]--"ONE" carries an ankle gun as a backup ONLY-it can be high "calf" or low inside "ankle", but it's ONLY a backup. No it's not Wyatt Earp draw "fast"---BUT IT"S THERE[}:)][}:)][}:)][:D]

A kel-tec .380 is an Great little back up gun.. I been carrying one for 2 years now. On the ankle, or in the front pocket, you damn near forget about it.. Due to its unique action and its long trigger pull, you can keep one in the pipe at all times just incase you need it in a pinch.
Its thin, reliable, comfortable, cheap, and is alot lighter than a Bersa.
Those S&W .38 AND .357mag scadnium frame revolvers also look like they would be a neat akle gun.. Although, I never fired one. They are about twice the price of a Kel-tec.

Ankle holsters are great in Hollywood...but in real life, not so smart. I would recommend a J frame or as others have said, a Keltec carried inside the pocket..much faster.
