pistol buffer springs ar15

I am working on a pistol project. Someone said that you need a special heavy duty buffer spring because the gas tube is so short. and That it needs a heavier spring to slow down the action.
Someone also told me that the standard CAR buffer spring would work.
Any ar15 experts out there.?

  I would think that the CAR buffer/spring would work for you, I belive the tube length is the same as the "pistol" ones. On thing on gas tube though is one of the major set back to short bbl ARs is the gas tube length. If I remember correctly if the gas tube is too short and it causes too much pressure causing torn case heads and unreliable feeding. On fix for this is to get on of the "pig tail" gas tubes. These tubes are still a standard length but are bent to wrap arround the bbl and fit under the handgaurds. The other option is to buils a REAL [:D] AR pistol that dosent need a rear buffer like this one I am working on, I need to finish putting in the lower parts and green Ergo grip.
