What do I have and when was it made?? 22 cal square butt. 6 inch rib barrel, serial number 67,5xx on yoke, serial number K2324xx on butt and also under the barrel just ahead of the yoke. p&r, case colored hammer, floating firing pin, 5 screws. I Can't do pics. Thanks for your help.

I WOULD RATHER BE DUCK HUNTING.

  Appears from your description to be a pre-model 17, mfg date of 1955. Firing pin on 22 rim fire cal. is frame mounted as opposed to being on the hammer. The number inside the yoke is an assy number?, I believe, rather than a serial no. and will not match the s/n.

  Yes , correct , S&W SN#'s are (4 the most part) ARE on the but of the
  grip , the 'other #'s' such as inside crane/yoke and inside cly. opening on frame ect. are almost always assby. #'s and or other such stuff...Im not at the shop , so I cant look up any info (dates ect.).
