7 shot 22 revolver

Have a seven shot 22 revolver with the word Liberty stamped on it & a picture of George Washington on the grips. No other info on gun. Would like to know who manufactured the gun. Any ideas? The gun does not have a trigger gaurd (simular to a derringer) & has a 2 inch barrell

    double action, right? If it's the one I"m thinking of, it's a slightly better version of the (mostly junk) roehm, made in Germany and imported before the GCA 68 stopped such imporation. If its cylinder is not already out of time with the barrel, it soon will be, because the metal of the parts just isnt hard enough, not enough care was taken in the making of the parts. $30 or so.

    liberty is also a brand name found on single action spur trigger revolver manufactured by "hood firearms" about 1880 to 1890. c.s shattuck manufactured a revolver in the same era that had presidents lincoln and garfield on the grips. i am not familar with any that used a likeness of washington on the grips.

    My reference shows a Liberty Scout revolver made by the Herbert Schmidt CO. He was located in Ostheim, in what was then West Germany.

    It was imported and sold in the U.S. by the Precise Import Corp. It should have West German proof-marks, including a two diget date. The makers mark is usually found underneath the grips. "HS" inside a circle.

    Nothing that I'm aware of. There's not much around about the inexpensive firearms imported in the 60's.
