Astra Revolvers any good???
Looking at an Astra 357mag wheelgun for a casual shooter. Are these any good overall? And if they have inherant issues what are they?

I can not answer your question directly other than to say, Astra has been making guns for long, long time. They don't make junk. Most of their products are "adequate" in performance and not as costly as the popular guns. You may be happy with the Astra 357mag wheelgun except when you go to sell or trade it. Astras bring low values as previously owned guns. Hope this helps.

Yeah but when I buy I buy to keep so as long as its a quality pridcut I will keep it till I am dead, broke, or it wears out. 0 -

If that is the case, spend the few extra bucks and go first class. Buy a S&W. If it breaks Smith will fix it under warrenty. As a "casual shooter" you won't ever wear it out. That leaves "till I am dead." Your heirs will appreciate the S&W much more than an Astra.

Well the one I am looking at is in 95%+ and its only 175.00. A used S&W compareable would be atleast 100 more. I have had an Astra 400 and liked it very much I just wasnt sure about their revolvers. 0 -
Sure, buy it. Not a bad gun. Not a great gun, but not a bad one. Comprable to Rossi.

ATF, I like the top gun. You say it is a Astra .44 mag? It looks like a 3" barrel. How accurate is it? I may look into getting one. I have been wanting to get a smaller .44 mag. I was thinking about the Taurus w/4" barrel, but I will do a little research on the Astra. How much do they go for?

That's an Astra Terminator 2.5" barrell with adjustable sights.No longer made but they are around if you search.I own a lot of Smith & Wessons and the Astra lock up is tighter than any of my Smiths I'm referring to all the Astras.

I had an Astra 960. (.38 Spl.) Liked it, but sold it to a friend, who also liked it. I'd get another, if the opportunity arose.
