spencer rptg shotgun f. bannerman manufactured new york model 1890 year 1882 ser# 16893 12 ga. 30" barrel. can anyone give me some history on this gun and worth! thanks, cowboy636454[?]

  If it is marked "f. bannerman" my books say: vg - $240 - $335.
  Exc - $480 - $750. If only marked "Spencer" - about 20% more.

  Invented by Christopher Spencer of Civil War repeating rifle fame. Put into production in the early 1880's. First "SUCCESSFUL" repeating shotgun on the U.S. market. Financial problems caused sale to Francis Bannerman in 1890. Bannerman's maintained production until 1907.
