remington 700 .308 win / 7.62 NATO Worth?
It is in fairly good shape with a little marring on the stock from ten years ago. What is this gun worth? You know what I know about it. I haven't seen it or know any details about it. Some guy said he had one and told me to make him an offer. I just wanted some advice on what to offer him, and maybe some good questions to ask him. It maybe has a 4x scope on it. He said that he is not to attached to it, but he is not giving it away for free. Thanks guys.

Get some more details about it. Is it ADL or BDL blued or stainless? Could be 250 to 700 just depends. 0 -
Not sure if this will help but i recently sold a wood stock ADL 700 in .270 that was 18 years old and had some slight marring at the front of the stock due to the metal from a swivel rubbing against the stock and a dealer gladly gave me $280.00.
The rifle did not have a scope or scope mounts but was all original including both front and rear sites.
ADL's including the newer synthetic stocked 700's were churned out by the gazillion by Remington over the years and will only go for so much.
BDL's and other types of 700's as was mentioned will fetch more.
Fwiw i only paid $175.00 for that rifle about six years ago from some woman who had bought it for her husband and they were divorcing.
Got the impression she sold it cheap just to spite the poor old boy.

well if it is a bdl, they discontinued the caliber in 1995. if it has the heavy varmint barrel, people are willing to pay a lot for them. if it is a bdl it will start out around $300 in well hunted shape to maybe $450 to $500 for an excellent condition specimen. the heavy barrelled version will go for $500 to whatever the person is willing to pay for it.i bid on one to $800 and lost it. just depends on how high you are willing to go. regardless, they are nice guns that shoot well. i have 7 of them and want more.
