Winchester 10 ga Cannon

I have a chrome Winchester cannon. 10 ga. According to CannonMania.com it is made between 1911 (winchester lettering and patent date are on the side not the top of the barrrel) and 1930 (no chrome cannons were made with steel wheels after 1930). Does any one have any more info on how to date this? Anyone know the key to the serial #/ part #/ batch # on the bottom of the barrel. I saw just a barrel on this site now that was at $300 any idea what the value is? Chrome is a little pitted, But in great codition. Thanks Andy

    Hello sellpackandship: The cannon was first listed in the 1903 catelog and was made until 1958. It was developed and patened by Charles Grifith a winchester employee. As you know it is a 10ga. but intended for Blank black Powder shells.
    In 1931 the the chromium plated style with rubber wheels was first offered. Although not serialized they did have "mating numbers" were stamped on the parts.

    In 1976 the Bellmore-Johnson Tool Co. was licensed to make "new" cannons. Replicas have WRA Co. on both sides of the carriage, and Bellmore-Johnson Tool Co. under license from winchester Div. Olin corp.

    Hope this helps you. Many parts for these are floating around, and it is posible to "mix and match" to get a good cannon.
