tasco SWFA super sniper scope
I have read a little about the tasco SWFA super sniper scope and have heard nothing bad about their new scopes anyways. Supposedly they went through a spell where they were crap but they are good now. There was a review at snipershide.com In all honesty, this seems to be the best for the money. I am just wondering if people rave about its value or if it really is an excellent scope that can compete with the $700 range. I read somewhere that this scope was originally priced at $800 but went way down after the 'collapse'. I want to know how these hold up against the $1000 scopes and if anyone competes with them?

They did sell for $800. at one time, there was no collapse that caused the price to go down, they were just closed out after the Navy contract was fullfilled. The initial close out deal was so successful that we worked a deal with the factory in Japan to keep producing them exclusively for us while maintaining the close out price. If the SS scopes were brought in and distributed through the normal channels they would still be around $800. due to the four levels of mark up (factory, mfg., distributor, dealer).
They hold up very well compared to $1000. scopes and are currently being used in large quantities by the U.S. Army.
