J Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Model 1915 32L

My dad has a J Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Leaver action 32 Long Rifle. Am trying to figure out when it was made and how much it is worth.

It has a Octagon barell which is rifled. On right side it has marked J Stevens Arms & Tool Co. Chicomme Falls, MASS USA. On left is 32-LONG and below that is a circled P. Under the lever is marked S 819

Along the top behind the hammer is marked Model 1915

All the metal is in great condition. Wood has a few scratches but looks like original type finish. Buttplate has STEVENS FAVORITE.

I am not sure what type of sight it is considered - I think rear site maybe a leaf site (either lays flat or end hinges up).

    Your rifle MIGHT? be an unusual varation of the "Favorite". The original Stevens factory in Chicopee Falls MA, was utilized for the production of military rifles starting in 1916. After the end of the First World War, Savage bought Stevens. The "Favorites" were made with different markings.

    Best thing to do would be to find a knowledgeable collector or dealer for a hands-on appraisal. Your "Favorite" MIGHT? have collectors value?

    Based on the marking on the barrel, your Stevens Favorite was most likely manufactured sometime in 1915. It is actually a single-shot falling block action versus a "lever-action". It is chambered for the obselete 32 Long rimfire cartridge. Typical values run from about $35 - $150. Specimens in exceptional (like new) condition will sometimes sell in the $400 - $500 range.

    Although they are quite rare, Stevens made some Favorites in 32 long CF.
