Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40mm
I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with the new side focus Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40mm, are they a good rifle scope for varmint hunting. Is it any better than a bushnell 3200 4x-12x-40mm. thanks

For small targets at distance....you will be happier with the higher grade Nikon (they are exceptionally clear) or the VX III in the Leupold....more money, I know, but spread out over a couple of years of satisfaction, well worth the difference in glass.....good luck and let us hear what you decide!

While I don't have any personal experience, the guy who handled the transfer of my last rifle I purchased had one on his varmint rifle and he swears by it. He let me take a look at it, and I was impressed. Additionally, he showed me the targets he'd saved from shooting 2 5-round groups at 100 yards and both groups were just one ragged hole. So, take that for what it's worth, but from what I saw I wouldn't mind owning one. 0 -
I won't buy Nikon anymore. They're warantee is only a limited lifetime (25yrs)with the appropriate registered paperwork, to the original buyer, type. Nikon scopes/binocs are great up until you have a problem, then Leupold, Weaver, Redfield and Simmons (in my experience) beat the hell out of Nikon. Burris is supposed to be good also, but I haven't had a problem with one yet so I don't know. Optics are fragile and will take a dump sometimes it is then that the warantees become so important. 0
