Another CETME question
I just got me a CETME but I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I have stripped it down and given it a good cleaning, but I have not stripped down and cleaned the bolt assembly. All the sites I have seen suggest doing this before firing it the first time but I would like to just spray some break free into it and not break it down if possible. Does anyone know if this is good enough, or does the bolt assembly need to be torn down and cleaned. Also if it does need to be stripped down and cleaned by hand before the first time you shoot it, can you just give it the breakfree treatment after that? Thanks in advance for the info.

If the parts all articulate freely (after you clean and lube them) you should be fine. The Cetme is a rather low grade version of the HK, and the HK is a fairly crude, stamped out, welded design, intended mainly to maximize the profit margin of the maker. 0 -
Sorry about the other response, don't risk your life on the advice of a known troll. Clean and lube the gun thoroughly, including the bolt. Your CETME was probably made by Century and God knows they don't pay attention to details sometimes. Make sure everything locks up well and that the bolt is cleaned and lubed. Dried cosmoline, varnish, rust, or dirt can keep bolts from fully locking and can lock firing pins full forward causing uncontrollable full auto operation and possible firing on an unlocked bolt which is quite injurious.
Bleu/Acyman/Ricky3/Kid/PBS, if you want to give advice at least know what the hell you are talking about. I know you're probably some kid posing as a know-it-all but its just annoying until someone gets hurt, then its 100% F-ed up. If someone got hurt off your BS advice I would be willing to fly over and break your fingers so you stop posting your garbage over here. Hell, I'll even include a video clip of you laying there screaming so the rest of the GB crew and the moderators can get a little satisfaction from it[:(!]

I too took my Cetme almost completely down when I 1st got it home. I didn't take the rollers out of the bolt but disassembled and cleaned everything else. That bolt was a real pita to get back together. Finally did it with the aid of a vice.
Kimberkid knows of a quick way to get the bolt back together, maybe he will chime in here.
